No, this is the top Restaurant in San Francisco.
Yes, $195 per person + tax + 20% gratuity
Are there gluten free options?
Absolutely!
No, for that you will want to go to El Mansour.
No, but SFMOMA parking garage is literally next door. It may be a couple bucks more expensive than Moscone Center Garage which is a block away. But you help fund art.
No. But lots of nearby parking such as MOMA
Love this spot. Amazing Moroccan food. Amazing wine and cocktails. Got the lamb which was delicious and short ribs (super tender). Came for lunch too and everything was amazing.
This is a classy restaurant with fine food and if you dine on the mezzanine level there are booths and huge wooden beams that give it a great ambiance. One of the benefits of dining on the mezzanine is that the acoustics are excellent as opposed to most San Francisco restaurants that are very noisy. If you're looking for a little more of a nightlife vibe dine downstairs or hang out near the bar.
Came here for a conference. Food was amazingly tasty n the presentation was 5 star! Knowledgeable wait staff that know their food and wines. Very impressive. The vibe is romantic foodie or business casual.
This was a fine experience. But i wouldn’t go out of my way to visit if i were you. We were seated in the farthest corner of the restaurant, despite it mostly being empty. The food was nicely prepared and the service was good. The reason I can’t give it a higher rating is that the food was shockingly devoid of flavor. As you can see, the dishes were well plated but the taste just didn’t come together for me.
We ordered the gem's salad, bone marrow with little gnocchi, and two pasta dishes. Lots of carbs! However, all of the dishes were equally flavorful. The bone marrow with the mini gnocchi was rather heavy even though it's an appetizer, but very good.
The food is definitely haut cuisine with delicately layered flavors and balanced tastes. We had the lamb shoulder, the couscous entree and the duck liver appetizer. This is not a kitschy place, do not expect belly dancers and singing of folk songs. The chef was present in the kitchen both working and overseeing the final dishes. You will enjoy yourself, probably spend a fair chunk of change and think it was worth it. On the drinks, be sure to ask for reduced sweetness. Both alcoholic and non alcoholic can be diabetes inducing.
Wow, hands down, one of the best Michelin one star restaurants in the city. Everything we had was very well made and flavorful. The short ribs dish was definitely the star of the show so I highly recommend that dish when coming to Mourad. I personally felt that the chef did a great job of introducing Moroccan food without getting too cute with modern twists or food trends. The staff were pleasant, friendly and non-pretentious. I highly recommend Mourad over State Birds, Progress, Liholiho Yacht Club, if you are serious about food.
Outstanding and worth every penny.Mourad was the location of my first chef tasting menu. The menu offered way more than advertised. It was an outstanding experience and casa oh wait to do it again. I am sure the regular menu is also top notch but I only ordered from the tasting menu. Great staff, atmosphere and location. Thank you for such an amazing meal experience.
The menu is just extravaganza of culinary ideas and every single of them executed with perfection. Combine that with novel like Menu list and impeccable service and there is a reason why we are coming back.yes, We really enjoy the democratic option to select dishes for the mood rather then being dictated by the chef. Did I mentioned you cannot go wrong with any selection? We love it
Definitely try the short ribs. Delicious! Beware they serve HUGE portions. The service was knowledgeable and courteous. Went here to celebrate my partners birthday. He had an amazing time. Thanks Mourad!!!
What an amazing place! Food is super savory and service is to the point! Will definitely come back here for more duck burrito(I don’t remember the name 🤣)! The short rib is very tender, but it’s not as wowing as I thought it would be. The octopus is very tender and delicious. Overall, very good experience!
I frequent Mourad especially when I have guests in town. It’s the right amount of unique but approachable cuisine. And reservations are not difficult to get.Food has always been consistent and the wine list is great. The atmosphere is pretty casual.
If you're down town on a lazy Saturday night, and you get a hankerin for some amazing food, Mourad might just be the place to whet your palette. Start with something crunchy and sweet and then just roll with the punches. Let the excellent sommelier give you a push in the right direction and then roll down food heaven hill. Make sure you grab the potato sides and dig in deep to some of the best food downtown has to offer.
Thought I'd treat myself to a nice lunch while attending a conference at Moscone Center. I was first to be seated shortly after they opened and was shown to a nice Banquette. I ended up getting the Basteeya, Braised beef and Honey and Almond for dessert. Everything was well executed and beautifully presented with interesting textures. Only room for improvement was the waiter could have been more friendly.
Food was amazing (which trumps a lot of things) BUT the meal did take over 3 hours and after my friend shared his severe allergies (like epi pen + hospital type of allergy) with our server, the restaurant tried to serve him something with what's he's allergic to. It seems as though the server didn't communicate it with the kitchen. Once that was rectified, that was fine...but it did happen twice.
This was my 3rd time here. The first visit was the best (two years a go). This time around, a couple of things threw off the entire night for us and we weren't completely satisfied. First, the waiter forgot our order. We asked for the olives as a starter and they were never served. Second, we had asked for the meat to be well done. It came to use almost entirely raw (inedible for me). At a Michelin eatery, I assume these details are important and the service certainly did not reflect the level of quality we are used to seeing at other Michelin restaurants. Nevertheless, the food here is always tremendous and we will most definitely return.

Impeccable service. Great food. Drink pairings were spot on. I hardly had to do more than sit back and enjoy the experience.
Love this spot. Amazing Moroccan food. Amazing wine and cocktails. Got the lamb which was delicious and short ribs (super tender). Came for lunch too and everything was amazing.
This place is excellent for doing family style because the portions for some of the items are quite large. We got a large fish with a bunch of different sides. Everything was delicious and was plated well. Given that we split the food between four people, it was not actually that expensive and everyone felt that they had enough to eat. Each of us also got a drink with our meals and they were mostly good, but there was one with olive oil which was a bit strange so we sent it back. They were understanding though and took the feedback seriously.
Food was definitely worthy of a single Michelin star. I had the short ribs and my date had the cous cous. The sides were good but not great. The desserts were great. We had the milk chocolate the honey lemon. We paid $550 after a 20% tip (I had 2 glasses of $40 wine) but I had lots of leftover short ribs by design.
Was really looking forward to eating here but ended up having a really poor experience. We sat down and ordered almost immediately and appetizers cake quickly. The entrees did not come for another 40-50 minutes without us being told what was going on until about 30 minutes in. The food tasted good but the lamb was cold.I was really disappointed by this experience especially given the restaurant was not crowded and others around us were receiving their food.
Elevated Moroccan cuisine. Thos chef does not mess around. Superb food, modern atmosphere, and impeccable service. Do yourself a favor and eat here.
Came here for a business lunch. The food was well executed but the menu was pretty small. Service was good even during a slightly crowded lunch. This place might sell the most expensive avocado toast I’ve ever seen though.
To fuse disparate cuisines, and to render the result in an exquisite manner - that was what we experienced at Mourad. Understated but perfect service; busy ambience where you could still hear one another (and yourself); comprehensive wine list that accommodated budgets (allowing for the overall expense of the restaurant) - this was a memorable dinner indeed.
The service was great and most of the staff was friendly.Excellent food, great wine selection. If you want to enjoy it more pace your ordering. The waiter told us to order everything we wanted and that he would bring the food slowly...Never happened. It actually felt like they wanted us out of there as fast as possible.
Awesome dinner. We were party of 5 and shared one large meet dish that came with 4 different side dishes. Also we ordered two bottles of wine which were quite nice. The staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. Some of us were there before so we didn't need much explanation but you should get recommendations from the staffs on your first visit. The bar area seemed nice as well. I would definitely check this place out if you are visiting. The place was little cold though. I hope it was little warmer.
